Squidward is a generous lover. It's canon now.

[-] agent_nycto@lemmy.world 13 points 5 days ago

He's a bisexual (male preferred) demisexual icon

[-] yermaw@sh.itjust.works 14 points 5 days ago

Does chastity as a form of bdsm play count? Because that shit is not prudish.

[-] yetAnotherUser@discuss.tchncs.de 10 points 5 days ago

It's not prudish but still very virtuous from the one in chastity. So much so that they should receive constant affirmations of how good they are.

[-] bizarroland@lemmy.world 12 points 5 days ago

Chastity and prudishness are not related.

I would argue that the majority of people would prefer to have a single partner that they share their sexuality with, and that is their greater joy.

[-] Korne127@lemmy.world 3 points 5 days ago

Chastity cages 😵‍💫

[-] spicehoarder@lemmy.zip 1 points 5 days ago

Just the rest of this series, you've milked it dry until the joke has completely shriveled up.

[-] soyslurper2@lemmy.dbzer0.com 5 points 5 days ago

It's a shitpost, not a joke. Get it right

[-] Sibshops@feddit.cl -1 points 5 days ago

Incel vibes from Squidward on this one.

[-] HappyFrog@lemmy.blahaj.zone 16 points 5 days ago

How is saying that you should share joy with other people "incel"?

Woman: I don't want to have sex unless it's meaningful.

Man: You are a prude for holding out sex.

[-] Viceversa@lemmy.world 13 points 5 days ago

That's a reach. But you do you.

[-] HappyFrog@lemmy.blahaj.zone 9 points 5 days ago

That's a completely unrelated scenario to what is being discussed...

[-] sangeteria@lemmy.ml 2 points 4 days ago

The difference is that squidward isn't trying to fuck the fish, they're speaking about sex and intimacy in the abstract

it’s like trying to tell someone who is in a cult that they aren’t thinking for themselves. They may actually be much more comfortable not thinking for themselves, and when confronted with the possibility that such a dynamic may be unhealthy for them in the long run, they are very likely to accuse the person making the suggestion as manipulating them, seeing the tip as a malicious attempt at coercion. I’m guessing this happens as a protection mechanism so that they don’t have an ego implosion at the recognition of the number of ways they have been manipulated as they have allowed themselves to be initiated and embedded into the cult.

This doesn’t imply that informed consent is less important than following our best judgements for ourselves and others. I am not defending assailants here, and I can understand how trauma could rightfully impact one’s reading of the comic above, since there are many folks out there who attempt to negotiate their way into relationships, which I think is probably an extremely unhealthy way of initiating intamacy if those involved are wishing for the engagement to be as impactful or meaningful as it could, should, or otherwise would be.

Honestly man I feel like that's a total non sequitur.
