It's time for every one of these fucking feckless democrats to go. They have demonstrated that they care more about the establishment and the longevity of their careers than they do about working people. They have enabled the Overton window to shift so much that republicans are calling formerly standard Democrat positions evil socialism. They are on their knees for corps nearly as much as republicans are. They have done nothing about our free speech being stifled more every day and seemingly almost nothing to stop the fulvous fascist from fully destroying American democracy. Fuck these clowns.

I do not root for our country. It is run by a Nazi doing Nazi shit. The Orange Pedo should be jailed for life. I am ashamed to be called an American. I am disgusted with the people that voted for him.

Trump is a symptom of the US Empire, not someone that dramatically changed the system into what it is today. The US began as a genocidal settler-colony, which it remains to this day, and grew into the world's imperialist hegemon after World War II. The rise of fascism in the US is a response to the decay in imperialism and the declining material conditions that come with that decay.

As a non-communist, I agree with this. Also Cowbee is a much nicer and more reasonable person than most people on their instance <3

[-] Cowbee@lemmy.ml 3 points 2 days ago

Appreciated, but you could always become a communist!

Cowbee, honest question: Who are you arguing with?

MO didn't make any inference contrary to what you're saying.

[-] Cowbee@lemmy.ml 3 points 2 days ago

I'm not really arguing. I saw someone make a point that, left alone, could leave people with the conclusion that the current fascism in the US is merely a whim of Trump and not part of a larger, ongoing systemic problem of the imperialist stage of capitalism. Considering that this is an anticapitalist community, not merely anti-Trump, I expanded the point a bit to hopefully connect the dots for some people that don't yet understand that this is capitalism itself driving it, and the problems will not go away just because someone else takes office.

Fair enough. Cheers.

Americans would win more with a competent leader, not a dementia-adled, convicted felon, adjudicated rapist, narcissist crime boss.

America has not won shit in my lifetime my man, and I’m not young anymore

It’s been steadily decline, until recently when the descent became much more steep

[-] BrainInABox@lemmy.ml 4 points 3 days ago

Good thing they don't have a competent leader then, I suppose.

Biden was much better than trump, but he wasnt a good man either. 52 years the bumbling oaf sat in government messing up more or less everything he touched, crowning his career off by enabling a genocide from the "left". Its sad that he's what counts as "good" to Americans.

Funny--I don't recall when Congress issued the declaration of war. What was the date on that, again, Ms Pelosi?

[-] kreskin@lemmy.world 12 points 3 days ago

Except congress never declared war and the president lacks the authorty to do so-- thats congress's role. So we are not at war. You'd think Pelosi would know what congresses job is, but it seems the old corrupt bat has no idea. She probably puts all her energy into insider stock trading-- she's at least good at that.
