Voyager, because I need a replacement for Reddit after they booted me (not saying why, just know it was complete horseshit), and I heard Lemmy was the next-best thing, and Voyager was the best-rated in the iOS App Store.

It has been the best clean user experience for me so far
I've been on Summit forever now. Very active development, and they've added every feature request I've had along with many others'. I lose track of all the options it gets anymore.
It looks good, works good, and when it doesn't, it gets fixed quickly.
I share lots of posts and articles and put them in quote blocks and just bring able to select all text and guy a single button that auto quotes all paragraphs won me over for good, and then multi-communities was the icing on the cake.
If you ever ask what app has feature X, it's likely already in Summit.

Summit here too. I changed up some of the display settings so it feels like Relay for Reddit 😀
The things that got me to move from Voyager were that when images didn't load first time, there was no way to re-try - Summit has that. And I don't think Voyager handled drafts that well. Summit has drafts but I do wish there was a client that had drafts like Relay did, where if you come back to the same comment/post and hit reply it has your draft from where you left off on that comment/reply.

Voyager, reminds me a bit of Apollo for Reddit and has a good webapp for desktop usage.
did you make voyager’s app for apple watch work? mines always crash at home feed

Voyager.
I used "Reddit is Fun" for years on Reddit but when it came time to switch to Lemmy I picked Voyager (wefwef at the time) because the UI was the most similar. I tried many of the other popular apps and I was happy with most of them, but Voyager was (and is) my favorite.
It's simple. Lots of text. Easy to use. Looks nice.
- Boost on old (2013) android phone. very convenient coming from RedReader on android
- Voyager on recent android phone. it's good but kinda slow because it's web-based
- Arctic on iOS (iPod Touch 7G). Mlem doesn't support iOS 15, Voyager is slow/doesn't fit small screen properly

I dunno, it was on F-Droid and it's really simple and lightweight, like its namesake critter. I'm sure there's some more full featured options out there. (Voyager's gestures kept throwing me off I think lol)
But I don't hear a lot of people talking about this one much! Wonder why...
Can't set a default sort for comments which is absolutely crazy. You have to resort every comment section you click into.
It was the first one I used and I never bothered with anything else. It works great

The killer feature for me is swipe gesture navigation. Most apps do not have that. If anything, they might have a "swipe in from the edge of the screen" gesture, but that is not the same as being able to swipe from any point onscreen to go back.
It also supports PieFed.
Boost mainly. Then I found it struggles getting posts in the "hot" feed so I'll switch to Voyager for that.
Edit: I forgot to add why. I used boost for Reddit and I really like the UI. It's very customizable.
I've stuck with Boost for like...8 years now? It does everything I need it to so I stick with it.

Thunder. It was the first I found when leaving Reddit and it had been a good experience so I've not looked at other ones.
Summit. Chose at random
I usually use the official Lemmy client in the browser, because it is minimalistic and fast on any device

Heard that it was an app from a Lemmy dev.
Tried it and it was simple enough.
I have three Lemmy clients on my phone: Blorp, Summit and Voyager. However, I mostly use Voyager. I think it's the best app for Lemmy that I've tried so far. It's the one I'm most comfortable with.
what does it give you over using your browser to access lemmy on your phone?
On phones, I generally find the usability worse on a browser than on an app.

Eternity. I used Infinity for reddit and it's the best UI and FOSS
Is Eternity still maintained? On fdroid the last version is from 2 years ago.
I don't think it is and it sucks because I'm so used to swipe to go back.
I don't think it is, but it still works.
Except a specific image format, I'm not sure which one. But on certain specific images, the whole app hangs for a couple of seconds, and then crashes.
Interesting, the app has never crashed for me.

I just type in the URL into phone browser and use it that way

I went jerboa->sync->interstellar->summit
Every other one gave me a reason to switch, though I don't remember why I left interstellar

It’s the only client I have found that loads all images, regardless of source. When I used voyager, about half of the images didn’t load.

The same one I use on my laptop, Firefox/lemmy-ui.
I was using Sync for Lemmy until a week or two ago. It was nice and familiar because that was my reddit app of choice prior to api-gate, but for some reason it kept frequently erroring out and not showing posts or images. I switched to Voyager and so far it's been pretty good

Eternity even though it's no longer developed it has all the features I want that the others don't have.
Voyager + Thunder - Don't have comment navigation with volume buttons.
Summit - Can't set it to show the content of the collapsed parent comment.
Jerboa - Can't set a default comment sort, literally have to resort every time you click into comments.
