yet also when they want to get a table inside... sometimes every option at a restaurant is a sensory overload option.

I usually prefer outdoors. Indoors has more surfaces which sound can bounce off from.

I go outside for the peace. Inside is always worse.

I am totally the opposite. Outside preferred, normally way less noise on the dining patios around here at least.

Both are just. Bad.

Outside has heat, mugginess, cars, bicycle, animals, insects

Inside has humming lights, people, people, kitchen sounds, humming lights oh my God why are they HUMMING

I still prefer inside because AC is a divine thing

Outside doesnt have music though. Ive made it a policy to ask cafe/restaurants to turn it down when I go eat there and have to be indoors

Outside is wasp territory. I don't like wasps in my food..

It depends. Inside can be noisier and have awful lighting. Outside can be too hot or windy or humid.

If you so much as show me a photograph of the sun, somehow I'll end up with a sunburn

Insisting we eat on the patio means I'll be uncomfortable for days, all for a novelty that frankly I don't understand

Same. I could sunburn under a new moon.

The chairs are almost always 100x worse. Otherwise I prefer it over sitting in more crowded spaces

Depends. If it's equally ~~noisy~~ stimulating inside and out, I'll prefer out.

Didn’t see the autism label and I thought it was a joke for us fatties

Okay so can we please collect some remedies or solutions? I'm stuck between hyper fixating on reducing plastic clothing and sweating like I have a built in sprinkler system.

Layering cotton helps only to some extent, I kept some plastic gym shirts for when it's above 20C and I need to leave the house. People have recommended botox and I tried it on the forehead but it didn't do much at all to prevent sweating.

I prefer outside in the autumn and winter.

[-] Gladaed@feddit.org 2 points 5 days ago

I recommend loops earplugs. They really do help a lot. I just got their loops flex after an overly loud event at the start of the year and wouldn't go back

Seconded. I used them several days ago in a VERY noisy restaurant, and it was a game changer!
