I like how they acknowledge that the CEO is an employee, and not the infallible, unfireable dirty they like to think they are.

Yup. If you have a Board of Directors, the CEO reports to them. And usually on a BoD you can remove other members via a majority vote. Technically, no one is safe.

Now where they can get away with it is if it’s a private company and they’re the owner. In that case, the buck stops with them.

It's also why public companies like Tesla will stack the Board with friends, family, and sycophants.

Not likely to go against the CEO even when it's obvious they should be removed.
