This is a little cooler than the Lego vending machine set I have.

This is one of the least dull and most amazing things I've seen in a long time. Really love it. I want to see a build log.

I showed it to my wife and she rolled her eyes at the machine and the idea of making a machine like this and that amount of Lego......so that's the badge of honour for how truly amazing this is.

The lego is normally stored under the dining table for quick access but the wife wanted the room cleaned up for a sewing project.

Nah, that's perfect for kids tricl-or-treating. They will remember that.

Why, he doesn't want to fleece users for money.

[-] baines@lemmy.cafe 1 points 1 day ago

it was in response to the above statement

[-] varyingExpertise@feddit.org 1 points 1 day ago

Yes, I know, but having a high rate of success will prevent frustrated vandalism and keep the enjoyment high. I felt like pointing that out.

I will add a video tomorrow. I cant properly fill it up yet or my kids will pregame too hard. It works pretty good.

Your comment and the replies had me thinking, "Wait what, it's made out of Lego!? I assumed it was wood!" For a second there it became an achievement of godlike glory.

(I'm on my phone and first cup of coffee, had opened comments but not expanded the thumbnail. Also I'm just dumb sometimes.)

Also I’m just dumb sometimes.

I feel ya.

I was hoping it was going to be a bucket of candy corn

We need audio reaction of your partner learning “it’s going to be a year round art installation”

[-] Steve@startrek.website 22 points 2 days ago

I could totally fill it with bagels, so I should be able to store it next to the fridge.

[-] BooBees@fedinsfw.app 11 points 2 days ago

Do you want reapers? Cause that’s how you get reapers.

Man this an an amazing build. So jealous. Really stellar job.

[-] TrackenDaKracken@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago

Oooh! Needs a Trump voodoo doll.

[-] Mycatiskai@lemmy.ca 7 points 2 days ago

Do people win every time?

I see a lineup forming if you get a lot of kids in your neighborhood

[-] Steve@startrek.website 11 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

I added a “play until you win” sign.

I ran it like 50 times and only came up empty twice.

Yea theres going to be a line

[-] baines@lemmy.cafe 5 points 2 days ago

neato would very much enjoy seeing this

DAMN! That's cool af. Now I want to build one. Maybe after my skeleton comedian.

Are there instructions you recommend online, somewhere? I can build the box no problem, but I'd need help with the rest, especially the coding.

OH, one can buy a gantry system on Alibaba:

[-] Steve@startrek.website 7 points 2 days ago

I should reprogram this to tell jokes:

A+ Lego storage

[-] Proprietary_Blend@lemmy.world 3 points 2 days ago

You should put a PS5 in there, too.

[-] Steve@startrek.website 3 points 2 days ago

I have some flashlights and stuff to sprinkle in

[-] HeyThisIsntTheYMCA@lemmy.world 2 points 2 days ago

i was going to be really square holey if it dropped the candy

[-] Evilschnuff@feddit.org 2 points 2 days ago

You can install it as part of a chicken coop and let people get the eggs with it 😄. Anyway, awesome idea!

[-] Steve@startrek.website 4 points 2 days ago

When I started everyone thought I was getting a bird.
