Christensen said it appeared one of the two propellers came loose

Can we all take a moment to appreciate the sheer incompetence of the womble that wrote this, to repeatedly call the vessel a jet boat, then casually mention that a propeller came off? I also had a look at their Facebook page, (the racing team, that is) and they also say the cause of the crash was losing a propeller.

Top notch journalism.

I wonder if they meant impeller? From what I can see on their FB page there's no sign of an outboard propeller anywhere and it's using a Chevy big block engine to power it.

It may indeed be a jet boat. EDIT: Hard to draw conclusions actually, there's not many details on the boat and the photos and videos aren't revealing much

It's not an outboard, they have a propeller driven by a shaft, you can see the shaft under the boat in these photos, although the prop is off.

Ah yeah that makes sense seeing as the engine isn't in it in those photos.
