The first time I heard of this tragedy, I broke down crying. Because I know humans are capable of atrocities, but this is just...actually one of the worst things I've heard in a long time. Nothing, NOTHING justifies shooting a 1 year old baby ever.
TMI, extremely WTF, also sad
The second reason for the crying was my (soon to be ex) bf. He basically went:
"Yeah, this is a real tragedy...but the mother is also to blame, she shouldn't have raised the baby up like that. You don't put a baby between yourself and police officers."
And that honestly made me realize I was living with someone who lacked lots of something called empathy, which I value immensely. Because in my mind, the only person to blame here for this monstrosity is that officer and nobody else. It didn't occur to me for a damn second to blame the mother for this. Like WTF??
I was shocked to the core when he said that...but unfortunately, I was kind of expecting a response like that from him, because I know how he is. And this isn't a person I want to spend my life with.
Yep. That pretty much sums it up for me...
That part with conservative men tho...holy fucking shit. That's true and terrifying, because it's true. All of it.
This world is fucked up, honestly. I hate it a bit more every day. Still...I'm naively hoping things will somehow get better someday?
Anyway, thanks for the comment ๐
Brutal yet on point.
