Update: the game now has an in-game feedback panel (Feedback button on the start screen, in-match HUD, and match-end screens). It takes free text plus optional 1-5 ratings on combat weight, camera readability, fun, and touch ergonomics, and needs no account. If you try it, feedback on how it feels to play is genuinely wanted. GitHub issues are open too, for anyone who prefers that route.

i would allow limiting the number of players first, it's hard to see what is happening when starting out. scrolling also feels kinda weird on the main page. I should be able to immediately scroll down to the "choose your fighter" part of the game.

But i would say the most important thing IMO is slapping it on steam/itch/crazygames or whatever. get some revenue to invest in better assets or graphics . doesn't have to be super fancy. but something that looks like the better looking indie or FOSS games (like say flarerpg).

Thanks, this is useful. The scrolling issue was real: at a 720px-tall window the character roster below the fold had become unreachable. That is now fixed and deployed, so a reload should show it working.

On player count: one follow-up so we get usable signal from this - was the problem telling your own fighter apart from the others, or that everything is just too small at that zoom level? Twenty-fighter chaos is the game's intent, but a smaller lobby option is a reasonable thing to add if the readability limit is really the count itself rather than the camera.

On distribution: it is already on itch.io (https://bashfighter.itch.io/bash-fighter), and Steam and other portal sites are not planned for now.

Still doesn't work. i have the cursor below the played game on the homepage and still can't scroll down.

I think identifying my player.

It's not a issue of distribution. i think people are just more likely to buy a game on steam even if it's free then to just do a paypal donation due to psychological reasons . for example shattered pixel dungeon sold probably around 1.2k copies just this week. it's not even the best selling game with open assets and code (that would probably be mindustry). but i think shattered pixel dungeon is probably the best case study in how to fund a open source game.
