My favourite Nazis are 6 feet under. These clowns should join them.

Fuck Nazis. Fuck fascism. Fuck these cowards.

[-] i_stole_ur_taco@lemmy.ca 79 points 2 weeks ago

Bunch of fucking losers.

I’ll be a lot more concerned if and when they become so comfortable they don’t hide under masks anymore.

[-] aarch0x40@piefed.social 60 points 2 weeks ago

If their cause is so noble, why hide their faces?

[-] otter@lemmy.ca 2 points 2 weeks ago

There are a few reports coming in from this thread. I'm open to changing my mind on any of the following, but the reason why I haven't taken action on a few of the reports is as follows:

I think that it is both valid to question why these people are covering their faces, while also noting that covering your face isn't "bad" in all cases. The same comment ("if they think they're right, why hide their faces") is also used against protestors when they push against the government. Based on the context, I think that's the point that the other users in this thread wanted to make, but did so poorly. I don't think those other users are in support of the white nationalists in the post, but rather they picked a bad example.

The difference between the two situations comes down to why the face is covered and what power that serves. Generally:

  • In rallies such as this, the face covering is for intimidation and group identity, and using anonymity to threaten the targeted minority group. It is also intended to hide the person from their community members, because of shame and embarrassment.
  • In protests, the face covering is to avoid retaliation from the authority figures that the person is protesting against. They rarely hide their thoughts and feelings about the matter from their community members.

Again, there is some overlap, but that it is why it's usually more valid to criticize the former and not the latter.

As for the second argument, I think there is a misunderstanding between 'human trafficking' and 'human smuggling'. Human trafficking is almost always defined as the exploitative practice, where the person being moved is being harmed. Human smuggling can take different forms, but it is not necessarily harming the person being moved. The example of the Underground Railroad and the networks that help refugees and victims escape harm, those would fall under the label of "Human Smuggling", but the terms are often confused.

So overall I think the issues in this thread come from users making errors, rather than malice, and so I haven't taken specific moderation actions. But again, open to changing my mind and taking action if more info is brought to light.

Screaming about masks during Covid, hiding behind them during MAGA. So brave.

All over the world they dress the same. Interesting.

They are all controlled by the same narrator.

Not much different than pop cultures tbh.

Imagine refusing so hard to take responsibility for your own life that you will blame all minorities instead of looking in a fucking mirror.

So superior to us coloured people that they're too afraid to show their faces.

[-] 3daybanwithdrawl@lemmy.world 11 points 2 weeks ago

They all live their lives in a state of constant fear, using any and every real world excuse to stay that way.

Euro here: what is truth and reconcilliation day? (And why do these masked asshats even exist,...but I digress)

Settler violence reached abhorrent, crimes against humanity level of evil when the Canadian government, aided by the Catholic church, abducted indigenous children from their homes and forced them into residential schools in an attempt to force their (indigenous people generally) complete assimilation into western norms and culture. Many sufferred horrific abuse while there, many died; the trauma is generational.

These degenerate losers deny it or embrace it.

TRC is a day we set aside to remember them and our need to heal.

[-] dubyakay@lemmy.ca 21 points 2 weeks ago

Minor detail, but it wasn't just the Catholic Church. It was all Christian denominations.

Just to add to Brilliants comment, these residential schools were not shut down completely, until 1996.

Somebody replied with what happened already, so I will add that this day (Sept 30th) is Canada acknowledging the crimes of the government and church with Truth and hopefully Reconciliation of those events with the Indigenous people..

But heres the Truth: Our government didn't make it a federal holiday, so only some provinces treat it as a holiday where you can go and watch an indigenous celebration. When it was instituted our Premier (Trudeau) was in British Columbia on the Holiday and rather than meet with the Indigenous leaders at a celebration, he went to his island home to chill out. To me this showed exactly how much Canada cared about Reconciliation.

The town of Kamloops was where one of the most recent unveilings of atrocities of the residential school system. It was a program to "help" the indigenous people adjust to the colonial usurpation of their lands and way of life.

What it actually resulted in massive mistreatment, atrocities, genocide, and erasure of the students in their care.

A site in Kamloops recently(inside the last 15 years) was revealed to have found another 50 ish bodies that were hidden.

The holiday truth and reconciliation was created a few years ago to acknowledge the problem and it was a big deal because it also was the first time the government of Canada officially acknowledged it

Hey Canadians,

You guys need to snuff this flame out now. Whether through serious jail time, or even feeding them to the bears

Don’t let the weed take root, otherwise you’ll wind up like the U.S.

"there's dozens of them"

perhaps two dozen by my count!

Seriously though I hate that these cunts are everywhere. Not many presently but I suspect it's a drip / trickle / flow thing. They grab on to genuine social problems and distort them to match their own ends.

They need to be met by an opposing show of force less this cancer spread.

What a bunch of cowards

[-] swordgeek@lemmy.ca 14 points 2 weeks ago

The Big Three news outlets in Canada pretty much ignored this story until the Kamloops local paper and social media picked it up. Now they're all over it, pretending they were there first.

And they're all missing the crucial point.

Second Sons are working very hard to stick to the rule of law, while instilling fear. They're showing up in groups like this in smaller communities. They're not in Calgary or Toronto or Vancouver, they're north of Edmonton, or Orillia or Millarville.

They show up, dress to intimidate, act to intimidate, but don't actually threaten. They post overt dogwhistle slogans, "Je me souviens d'un Quebec blanc" or "Indian trucks kill canucks") which they could plausibly explain away as something else, if forced to stand on trial.

They're getting bolder, which means they're going to try to goad their victims into acting. They'll obey the RCMP or local police (if the force is sufficient) without hesitation because as long as they keep showing up, as long as they keep scaring people, as long as they are able to avoid consequences for their actions, they'll be able to hurt some people and recruit others.

They need to be driven out by the people every time they show their...well not faces, but cowardly masks. They need to be not shot or injured, but maybe detained until the police can unmask and identify them by name.

We need to publish their names. We need (and I can't believe I would ever say this) to doxx them - to make them fear for their lives if they keep threatening society.

We need to break the back of their movement, and the media isn't helping one goddamn bit.

Rachel Gilmore does fantastic journalist coverage and a great job of calling out specific names and people associated with it. She has been threatened quite brazenly for it, but she's also a badass that continues to do it. We need more Rachels.

Legalizing violence against conservative terrorists would solve this kind of bullshit instantly.

I feel like I'm looking at a bunch of Watchmen thugs. They cover up because they know how despicable they are.

[-] ElChinchilla@lemmy.world 11 points 2 weeks ago

Unrelated thought process. You know those youtube videos that are like "how many dinner plates does it take to stop a .50 BMG" and they start with like a .22lr and work up. Yeah, but not related at all to the lined up nazis.

I know a guy with a raised F-250 with dual rear wheels and upgraded suspension. Unfortunately he's in the photo and you're going to have to ask to borrow it.

[-] melsaskca@lemmy.ca 11 points 2 weeks ago

They should grab up all of those nazi's and force them into a federal re-education camp! Also, sterilize each and every one of them! Maybe they won't be so quick to protest once they've learned a bit of history.
