This is my experience as well. Kids have brought home a host of viruses this winter, both for themselves and to share around.

A vaccine for RSV has only just been released, hopefully this will be available for the season next year

That would be great!

I got covid just before Christmas last year and every time I've been ill since it's hit me a lot harder than I expected. I don't know if that's a sign of long covid but since the boffins keep pointing out different things the virus is responsible for, I'm gonna go ahead and assume that it's altered everyone's immune systems so that regular bugs are now kick-your-ass bugs.

Maybe you're just getting older 🙂

That's just an unfounded rumour started by my aching knees.

Same happened to us just before the school holidays. Daughter got sick from school and it spread to the wife and baby. They both had their flu jabs too. I had some very mild symptoms luckily.

It seems like everyone forgot the hygiene practices that covid had hammered in the last couple of years. Had to remind my daughter to stop kissing the baby

I was thinking how a few years back, if I felt a bit rough but not too bad I'd just go to work anyway. Now I can work from home so I don't go in.

Though I do think about how people who can't work from home are probably back to the old way of coming in anyway when they are a little unwell.

I guess we all forgot that washing hands and keeping a respectful distance were good ideas no matter what

Between the 3 of us in my household it's been a solid 6 weeks of trading colds/sickness. On top of all the jabs etc. but daycare is just brutal for bringing bugs home.

Same here! Personally I've had 3 different colds/flu in the last 6 weeks. Plus everyone in the house has had at least 1 in that time.

Daycare brings home a lot of bugs but don't think it stops when they get to school 🤧
