I'm a cis man, I used to work in a clothing store where putting out stock of bras and panties and other undergarments was part of my job. You know, like the countless other cis men in the world who work in stores that sell womens underwear. Does she have an issue with that?

Joanne's transphobia is completely detached from reality. Is it now preferable to have a cis man working in a lingerie section than a trans woman? If she considers trans women to be cis men, then what is her problem?

It's so fucking obvious her one goal is to erase trans people from existence and generally be an agitator.

Yeah. And the amount of times I've bought pads or yeast infection creams... I've never bought a bra because I always assumed that something you need to try on but Ive bought underwear.

Is crazy to me how we shame men who are to embarrassed to buy things in those aisles but if it's a woman who you feel should be called man.... It's nonsense.

They've moved from comparing us to y'all and past the adding in the assumption of nefariousness. We're now in the "dangerous by way of mere presence" category

[-] EmptySlime@lemmy.blahaj.zone 10 points 1 year ago

Not even just presence. The mere thought of our existence is a threat. Joanne seems absolutely terrified that any random woman she sees has even the remotest chance of being a cis passing trans woman and therefore a sexual assault of her waiting to happen. It doesn't matter how ridiculous it sounds. That genuinely seems to be her fear.

Yeah the idea that the only reason to "become" (heavy quotation marks here) would obviously be so that one can be a predator is either rooted in deep trauma or self projection. It just seems impossible to them that people might just be like this.

I think I was 11 or 12 when I heard a gay man say “how does anyone think this is a choice? Why would I choose a life that makes me more likely to be the victim of violence and oppression?” and I thought “that’s a good point, I guess it’s not a choice then.” I apply the same logic to trans folks. It’s not easy to transition, the only reason to do it would be because what is outside doesn’t match what is inside. Same reason I exercise, which is harder than watching Netflix on the couch but miles easier than transitioning.

[-] resipsaloquitur@lemmy.world 12 points 1 year ago

It’s pretty obvious she’s a closeted trans man named “Robert Galbraith.”

[-] ZILtoid1991@lemmy.world 4 points 1 year ago

Nah, she's likely just (in my opinion) some mixture of the followings:

  • also on the Epstein list, or was involved in some of those British grooming gangs.
  • covering up some horrible shit happpened at some of her orphanages.
  • shat her pants due to Jeremy Corbyn and his promise of raising taxes.
  • got angry at those LGBTQ+es due to her "representation".
[-] UnderpantsWeevil@lemmy.world 91 points 1 year ago

"Trans people should be unemployable" will inevitably get followed by "Trans people are all welfare queens" and then on to "We must sacrifice Trans People to win elections / make the economy line go up".

[-] Witchfire@lemmy.world 58 points 1 year ago

"We must sacrifice Trans People to win elections / make the economy line go up".

American Democrats are already here

[-] eestileib@lemmy.blahaj.zone 20 points 1 year ago

And they keep telling me I need to vote for them so they can kill me a little slower.

[-] Catoblepas@piefed.blahaj.zone 7 points 1 year ago

I call that genre of Democratic fan ‘vote blue even they kill you.’ Since yeah, that’s more or less what they’re saying in between getting mad about trans people existing as anything other than a hypothetical to debate. Show up and say their political darling of the minute isn’t perfect and out come the justifications and accusations.

[-] captainlezbian@lemmy.world 26 points 1 year ago

We won't be welfare queens, we'll be sex workers because we'll be merely considered unemployable not disabled or regular unemployed. And they're already cracking down on sex work.

Hate crimes will just be another dead prostitute.

[-] oftheair@lemmy.blahaj.zone 5 points 1 year ago

RIP Sex repulsed asexual trans folks.

[-] captainlezbian@lemmy.world 11 points 1 year ago

Welcome to a lot of our history and the reality for many of our siblings around the world. It's not ok, and the idea of it is personally revolting to me as a lesbian. But you survive however it takes.

I dream of a world in which that history is fully past, where trans people selling their bodies all do it freely of their own volition and not because its the only work they can find or because they've been taught that that's the only value they have or the only they can be made to feel desirable.

[-] riskable@programming.dev 56 points 1 year ago

Does she really not understand that this line of reasoning is the same that banned women (and minorities) from all sorts of places/activities in the past?

"I went to the bank today and there was a woman there applying for a loan! She wasn't even accompanied by a man!"

If she likes that kind of discrimination, maybe JKR should just shut the fuck up and let white men handle everything. She just loves that kind of oppression, after all.

[-] Semi_Hemi_Demigod@lemmy.world 34 points 1 year ago

The odds that the employee is, in fact, cis are pretty high

[-] EmptySlime@lemmy.blahaj.zone 12 points 1 year ago

I was about to ask exactly this. What do you think the odds are on that "trans" employee just being a cis woman that's just like... Kind of butch? I can't tell you how often transphobes have harassed her for "being in the wrong bathroom" because she's 5'10" (~178cm) with an undercut and wide shoulders.

[-] oftheair@lemmy.blahaj.zone 3 points 1 year ago

Happy cake day!

[-] wheezy@lemmy.ml 29 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

What about me? I'm a cis male but 240 lbs and probably about a B cup. Maybe she'd be ok with that? I'm not trans!

Seriously though, this Transphobia is the real mental health problem. Such a hyper focus on the most boring stuff but it's scary because "they're trans!"

Like, how many stories about gay men working in a women's clothing store do we get? None? Then shut the fuck up!

[-] biotin7@sopuli.xyz 2 points 1 year ago

But we do get it though, stories of gay men getting attacked & killed. TERFs are killers, treat them as such

[-] Tm12@lemmy.ca 16 points 1 year ago

Did M+S not capitulate already and apologize to the karen?

[-] svcg@lemmy.blahaj.zone 24 points 1 year ago

M&S did apologise, but mostly in a "we're sorry you were offended" kind of way.

[-] Sidyctism2@discuss.tchncs.de 3 points 1 year ago

well, i guess there is a time and place for coorporate non-pologies

[-] LuckingFurker@lemmy.blahaj.zone 20 points 1 year ago

They did, and I keep saying we in turn should be giving M&S hell until they apologise for apologising and for not having their (possibly) trans employees back

[-] garbagebagel@lemmy.world 15 points 1 year ago

Can the mould just finish the job already

[-] saddlebag@lemmy.world 15 points 1 year ago

She definitely hasn’t had any gender reaffirming surgery herself! /s

She looks so weird from whatever facelift and injections she’s had. Another trash human with double standards. I’ll never enjoy HP again because of her

[-] switcheroo@lemmy.world 13 points 1 year ago

Sounds like I need to buy a new bra or two. Support the store and support the ta-tas.

It's difficult to escape a cult.

it's her own cunt though

[-] I_Fart_Glitter@lemmy.world 7 points 1 year ago

The flowers on the under side of her hat are making me irrationally angry.

[-] princessnorah@lemmy.blahaj.zone 7 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

In a complaint to M & S, she told the retailer: “Imagine her horror, then, when the person to approach us and ask if we needed help was a transgender ‘woman’, ie, a biological male.

“This is obviously the case: he is at least 6ft 2in tall... My daughter recoiled, so I politely declined the offer and we left immediately. She was visibly upset and said she felt ‘freaked out’.” Source.

I'm more willing to bet this woman is lying, or the shop attendant accidentally spooked her, and the teenager was actually freaked out about the mum's huge song and dance.

They will always find new depths to sink to.

[-] maxxadrenaline@lemmy.world 5 points 1 year ago

[-] zarathustra0@lemmy.world 5 points 1 year ago

The world will only be safe when we can live without having to see, hear, or otherwise interact with other humans.

[-] oftheair@lemmy.blahaj.zone 2 points 1 year ago

Good thing some of us aren't human then 😉

[-] Professorozone@lemmy.world 4 points 1 year ago

I think people just aren't meant to have billions. Every one of them is messed up.

[-] bownage@beehaw.org 3 points 1 year ago

[-] Ibuthyr@lemmy.wtf 2 points 1 year ago

What an insecure cunt. She needs to fuck off into nothingness.

[-] sem@piefed.blahaj.zone 1 points 6 months ago

Can we take the good parts of Harry Potter and leave her on the curb?
