Women only trans inclusive This is an inclusive community for all things women. Whether you're here for make up tips, feminism or just friendly chit chat, we've got you covered.

Rules…

  1. Women only… trans women are women, and transphobic or gender critical talk isn’t allowed. Anyone under the trans umbrella (e.g. non-binary, bigender, agender) is free to decide whether a women's community is a good fit for them.
  2. Don’t be a dick. No personal attacks, no aggression, play nice.
  3. Don’t hate on groups, hatefilled talk about groups is not allowed. Ever.
  4. No governmental politics, so no talk of Trump actions etc. We recommend Feminism@beehaw.org for that, but here is an escape from it.
  5. New accounts or users with few comments may have their posts removed to prevent spam and bad-faith participation.

I've been a grandma for 20 years lol. Grandma still smokes hella weed and has an active romantic life but that's not the world's business.

I'm glad the youth (seem to be) deciding they don't need to present a "desirable" image to the world and can be cozy. Nothing wrong with choosing to present yourself as youthful and attractive if that's what feels right! The point is it should be your choice. We exist for more than public consumption.

i spent way too long presenting the way i thought the world wanted me to. these days im presenting the way i want for myself and no one else. some days thats pure comfy with no thought for aesthetics, some days its dressing to the nines cause i want to feel pretty and sexy, and most days its a mix. if people vibe with that, fuck yeah. if they dont they can keep it to themselves. lol is this being a grandma?

lol is this being a grandma?

I like to think not giving a fuck about other people's opinions is the true "grandma stage" haha

It is if you want it to be 🌠

It’s the evolution. Learning to be comfortable in your own skin, earlier, and express it. I love this for the younger generation.

Now, if all men can learn to define their self/role separate from that of women, to be comfortable in their own skin, before trying to seek out women, they too can evolve. Instead of this hard flailing in response to our brief, 50yr liberation, a flail that has given birth to things like maga and the birther movement.

Look, why don't you try spending an evening in a warm bath with a glass of Chardonnay and a good book? Or snuggled up on the couch crocheting in a comfy blanket? Throw a cheese plate into the mix for good measure.

I guarantee you'll come out of the experience wondering why grandma-ification isn't happening even earlier.

Gotta work on that night cheese.

I will cut up bowls full of fruit and bake cookies for just about anyone who walks through my door. I also play cozy video games while wrapped up in a blanket and call it an ideal Friday night.

I also also go to punk concerts and love a cold beer. So. ¯\(ツ)

Earlier and earlier? Have you seen what humans in their 40s and 50s looked like decades ago?

[–] Beth@piefed.social 4 points 5 days ago

I have definitely leaned into it. I’m 39 and I could go out and try to date etc. But in the past years I’ve reclaimed myself, and my mental health is better, and I have a house, and genuine friends, and the list goes on….so anyways I’ll just stay here in this peaceful space.

Yeah, but in all fairness I am a grandma and I also have sensory issues (adhd asd) and fibromyalgia. The fibro probably dictates what I can wear the most.

[–] Wren@lemmy.today 6 points 6 days ago

My ideal friday night is spent alone spinning wool, baking cookies, wearing comfy pants, and overclocking my PC.

Someone I know has “Aspiring Crone” in her email signature and I love it to bits. I’d steal it if I felt it fit me (it doesn’t really) but for her it is spot on, in the best way.

Maiden, Mother, Crone

I grew up Wiccan. Very lovely view of the phases of a woman's life. Very much looking forward to my crone phase!

I love to knit and bake, and the most exciting thing in my life right now is the mystery squash growing next to my roses. So, yes.

[–] RebekahWSD@lemmy.world 3 points 5 days ago

I just want to garden and can and bake and sleep a lot, preferably with at least one cat nearby.

I'm at a nude beach and spent the whole day working on a sewing project.

[–] Zoop@beehaw.org 2 points 5 days ago

Hell yeah! I'm happy for you. I hope it's been an enjoyable day; it sure sounds nice! :)
