The new BBQ place in my town

[–] Godric@lemmy.world 8 points 2 hours ago (1 children)
[–] Cypher@aussie.zone 3 points 2 hours ago

Depends on which currency I suppose but probably not $300 in the one you were thinking

[–] HeyJoe@lemmy.world 5 points 3 hours ago

The way those rolls were laying i thought it was just an entire loaf of challah bread.

[–] ChickenLadyLovesLife@lemmy.world 15 points 4 hours ago

This is what Mission BBQ is like, but add in the guilt trip to buy a $3 plastic drink cup "for the troops". And the barbecue is not good. It's not inedible or anything, it's just that everything (including the sides) is loaded with sugar.

"We do things a little different around here."

And then proceeds to do everything by the vanilla play book. Moreso for manbun burger places, but still works here.

[–] binarytobis@lemmy.world 12 points 4 hours ago

"We do things a little different around here."

Then proceeds to explain Tapas.

[–] pineapplelover@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 2 hours ago

They charge differently maybe

[–] Trampampoline@sh.itjust.works 20 points 7 hours ago

Differently? Alright, what's on tap?

"we serve coke products here, sir"

[–] Lexam@lemmy.world 8 points 6 hours ago (2 children)

I feel bad for people that don't have access to good Barbecue.

[–] HeyJoe@lemmy.world 4 points 3 hours ago

As someone who lives in 1 of those areas and visited Texas once 3 years ago I agree... I never had bbq ever like that before. Thats all we did for 3 days straight, bbq, brewery, bbq, brewery, concert festival at night. Best trip I had in a long time.

[–] Polisheocket@lemmy.zip 1 points 2 hours ago

I have direct access and make it myself, you might find some better but way cheaper from ho,e

[–] Illegalmexicant@lemmy.world 132 points 10 hours ago (3 children)

What is this? A meal on an Aircraft Carrier?

[–] CaptDust@sh.itjust.works 73 points 10 hours ago* (last edited 10 hours ago)

Couldn't be, there's protein on the plate

[–] JusticeForPorygon@lemmy.blahaj.zone 31 points 10 hours ago (1 children)

It's the new barbecue place in town

[–] Illegalmexicant@lemmy.world 2 points 6 hours ago (1 children)

The new barbecue place in town is a meme?

It's been ages since I've set foot in a bbq restaurant because of this.

*equips cane, glasses, and supplemental O2 tank*

Back in my day, an entree in these places wouldn't break the bank, and would send you home with leftovers every time.

YUM

Nice sly reference to the company owning several well-known restaurant chains.

Yum! Brands, Inc. (sometimes called just Yum!) is an American multinational fast food corporation. Based in Louisville, Kentucky, the company operates KFC, Pizza Hut, Taco Bell, Habit Burger & Grill, and several technology companies. Yum! is one of the world's largest fast food restaurant companies in terms of system units. In 2016, Yum! had 43,617 restaurants, including 2,859 that were company-owned and 40,758 that were franchised, in 135 nations and territories worldwide.

2016? Guess Wikipedia hasn't updated this one in a while.

[–] Gullible@sh.itjust.works 11 points 9 hours ago

They might not be updating their marketing materials.

Rudy's menu near me. 2.50 more for "moist".

[–] hansolo@lemmy.today 1 points 2 hours ago

A half pound of coked ribs? That's like 2 ribs.

I was about to grumble, but then I saw $3.49 for Cole slaw and can only believe this is a joke.

[–] wreckedcarzz@lemmy.world 1 points 4 hours ago

Sorry, I brought my own

[–] Imgonnatrythis@sh.itjust.works 16 points 8 hours ago (1 children)
[–] NoForwadSlashS@piefed.social 3 points 4 hours ago

If you're splurging and it's not moist, you need to hydrate more

[–] Brosplosion@lemmy.zip 5 points 7 hours ago (1 children)

They are two different parts of the brisket. The "moist" is from the point which is fattier than the "lean" flat.

[–] DarrinBrunner@lemmy.world 2 points 4 hours ago (1 children)
[–] lordkuri@lemmy.world 1 points 2 hours ago

Please tell me this is a backyard starship reference. I need to know there are other people out there that like this series too.

[–] JoeBigelow@lemmy.ca 4 points 7 hours ago

Yea, lemme get some dry brisket, because it's good that way...

[–] Gork@sopuli.xyz 24 points 10 hours ago

Ah yes the three item meal plus one other thing.

[–] MyDogLovesMe@lemmy.world 20 points 10 hours ago (17 children)

24 dollars? What? Does that come with a hand-job?

[–] wreckedcarzz@lemmy.world 2 points 4 hours ago

Finally, a career that I can excel at

[–] AnotherWastedHuman@retrolemmy.com 14 points 10 hours ago

Yes, but it's not applied to your equipment, but rather your wallet.

There's a bandannas bbq in town and I can get at least twice that amount of food for only $49.99

[–] pineapplelover@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 2 hours ago

I mean the math does work out. Picture is $25, twice the amount of food for $50 is literally the same

[–] recklessengagement@lemmy.world 3 points 6 hours ago (1 children)

Have you been to private equity burger? It's worth the mortgage.

[–] assembly@lemmy.world 12 points 10 hours ago (7 children)

That’s like 16 Costco hotdog meals.

Pickles? In this economy?

[–] ivanafterall@lemmy.world 4 points 8 hours ago

There haven't been a ton of bright spots moving back here to the south, but plenty of good bbq places is one of them.
